While the police was filing a case of alleged molestation against two brothers, one of them tried to commit suicide by hitting his head on the table. The Ulhasnagar police has arrested the accused and registered a case against the brothers.
The accused, Dhiru and Babva, had allegedly molested and beaten up a girl near Nehru chowk on Saturday night. When the girl, who is in her 30s, approached the police to file a complaint, Babva barged into the police station and started banging his head on the table.
According to police officials, Babva started arguing with a police officer who was taking down the victim’s statement. He told the police officer that if he registered a complaint, he would kill himself and his brother Dhiru would then file a case against the officer. A case has been registered against Babva for attempting to commit suicide within the police station.
A senior official said, “The brothers were produced before a Kalyan court on Sunday and were released on bail.”The brothers have been booked under section 309 (attempt to commit suicide) and 354 (assault on a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.
