Shiv Sena leaders took three urns of Sena patriarch Bal Thackeray’s ashes on Tuesday evening to Nashik for immersion in the river Godavari on Friday. District leaders Jayant Dinde, Vijay Karanjkar, Karbhari Aher and others took the pots to Nashik. People from Igatpuri and Ghoti offered their respects to the departed leader’s ashes on the way. The three urns were taken to Niphad, Lasalgaon, Yeola, Manmad and Nandgaon on Wednesday and will be taken to Pimpalgaon and Dindori today. “They will be placed in Nashik on Thursday afternoon and will be immersed on Friday morning in the Godavari,” said Jayant Dinde. Shiv Sena executive president, Uddhav Thackeray, along with a team of priests, had collected his father’s ashes on Monday, a day after his mortal remains were consigned to flames at Shivaji Park.
