Politicians, film and television actors made a beeline to Thackeray’s residence in Bandra, Matoshree, on Friday.
After Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray’s health deteriorated on Wednesday night, Matoshree has been seeing a stream of celebrities queuing up.
RPI leader Ramdas Athavale came in around afternoon to enquire on the health of Thackeray. Among the film stars to visit Thackeray were Jitendra, Juhi Chawla, Suresh Oberoi and his son Vivek
“We met Uddhav and he told us that Balasaheb’s health is better and he is improving,” Jitendra said. Producer and director Rakesh Roshan and film personality Kiran Shantaram too visited Thackeray.
Yoga guru Ramdev, too, went to Matoshree to enquire about the ailing Sena chief. BJP leader and actress Hema Malini along with BJP executive committee member Shaina NC also paid a visit.
Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray had assured those gathered outside Matoshree on Thursday night that the Sena chief’s health has improved.
Coming out of Matoshree, Hema Malini told mediapersons that she met Uddhav Thackeray, who told her that his father’s health was improving. Actor Sanjay Khan and son Zayed Khan too visited the Thackerays’ residence. Television actor Mukesh Khanna came to Matoshree and left around 5pm.
BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, who visited Thackeray along with leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Vinod Tawde, said: “Thackeray’s health is improving and we hope that he recovers at the earliest. We pray that he recovers and guides us better. We have conveyed our leadership’s concerns to Uddhav.”
On Wednesday, MNS chief Raj Thackeray, BJP leader Gopinath Munde, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, actor Nana Patekar, leader of opposition in the legislative council Vinod Tawde, BJP president Nitin Gadkari, industrialists Venugopal Dhoot, Rahul Bajaj visited Matoshree.
Film actors Salman Khan along with Salim Khan and Arbaaz Khan, Govinda, Mahesh Manjrekar and Vinay Apte, singer Kailash Kher came to check on Thackeray.
