Days after being discharged from the hospital, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has sought to dispel rumours about his health and thanked people for their support during his hospitalisation.

In a statement on Friday in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna, Thackeray said his health and the health of his son and Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray, who also underwent an angioplasty earlier, was good due to the “grace of Goddess Jagdamba and the blessings of those who loved and respected the Thackeray family.”

It went on to say, “Due to your blessings, the danger on the Thackeray family has been avoided. As long as your good wishes are with us, we will continue to serve people like this. I am fine now.”

He added that there was no need for an endoscopy to be conducted on him. Thackeray, who was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on July 24, a day after Uddhav was discharged after an angioplasty, noted how Sainiks had been praying for him.
