Concerned over the pressing challenge of climate change due to global warming and power crisis, Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron plans to invest his time, energy, money and resources into developing renewable energy solutions.
"Energy crisis is a big issue of concern. Climate change due to global warming is also one area which is serious. However, the key to these issues is global energy policy. There is a need to find out alternative sources of energy," Cameron told reporters here on the sidelines of an event organised by INK with TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design).
He said not much was happening in the direction of tackling the grave issues.
"We are really not working fast to solve the problem...we are not even close to it. There is a need to address the problem of greenhouse gas emissions," Cameron said.
The science fiction filmmaker said renewable energy was one area where he would like to devote his time and resources.
"Renewable energy is the answer to these issues and I will like to invest my time, energy, resources and money in exploring alternate energy solutions to address the cause," Cameron said.
He also appreciated India's efforts to promote clean energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
"India is doing a very good job in reducing greenhouse gases and taking initiatives to promote clean energy," Cameron said.
The nation that leads in renewable energy would be the nation that leads the world 10-20 years from now, he added.
