Wadhawan brings over Thai chain

Mumbai: The Wadhawan Group has tied up with a Thailand-based hospitality chain to mark its hospitality foray in India.

Its hospitality arm has entered into a management agreement with Thailand's Minor Group to launch the latter's 'Anantara' brand in India. Wadhawan has started construction on its first Anantara resort in Tamil Nadu. It is expected to be operational in 2011, an industry source said.It plans to launch eight luxury resorts by 2015.

Wadhawan Group spokes-person Kapil Wadhawan was not available for comment.
"The 131-key luxury resort is coming up in Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu," the source said. Wadhawan Global Hotels is also looking at leisure destinations such as Kerala, Goa and Rajashthan.
