US regulators close Greater Atlantic Bank

Bank regulators closed Greater Atlantic Bank in Virginia on Friday, the 130th US bank to fail this year as deteriorating loans take their toll on financial institutions.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp said Greater Atlantic had $203 million in assets and $179 million in deposits, and Sonabank of McLean, Virginia, will assume the deposits.
