Toshiba-JSW, a joint venture between the JSW group and Japan's Toshiba Corp's, is expected to start operations by January 2011, it said in a statement on Monday.
In 2008, the JSW group and Japan's Toshiba Corp lined up a $250 million joint venture to make and sell steam turbines and generators in India.
The JV sees sales of $400 million in India by end of 201415 and will work towards establishing an independent production scale of 3,000 megawatt a year by 2014, it said.
"Over the 5 years from fiscal year 2009, Toshiba-JSW expects to invest approximately $160 million in the plant and its manufacturing equipment and essential facilities, including waste-treatment facilities," it added.
