Tata Motors today said it has developed a range of fully-built, ready-to-use municipal application vehicles catering to various municipal services.
These include health and sanitisation, solid waste collection and transportation, town maintenance and water supplies, a press release issued in Mumbai stated.
The range comprises both large and small vehicles to negotiate any area, with either wide roads or narrow lanes.
For solid waste collection and transportation in areas with wide roads, the range includes LPK 2518 hook loader, LPT 1613 garbage compactor and LPT 912 dumper placer, it said.
For solid waste collection and transportation in areas with narrow lanes, the company has developed the LPL 407 garbage compactor, SK 407 garbage tipper and an ACE garbage tipper and a dumper placer, the release said.
Other vehicles in the suite are an LPT 912 knuckle boom crane with personal basket for town maintenance, an SE 1613 tanker for managing city water supply, and a Winger based air-conditioned ambulance, it said.
Tata Motors has been catering to the municipal sector by supplying basic chassis to various municipal bodies and contractors and the sector has become a focused area for the company, it said.
"The company plans to cater to the increasing demand with fully-built, ready-to-use vehicles to better help municipal bodies towards cleaner and healthier cities and towns," the release said.
