The two main bourses Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange have postponed by more than two weeks their move to bring forward the start of trading by 55 minutes, after strong protests from brokers.
A spokesman for the BSE said both exchanges will start the extended hours from January 4, 2010, instead of the earlier planned December 18.
"The current 9.55 am start will continue till then," the BSE spokesman added.
