Telecom service provider and part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, Reliance Communications today announced its partnership with mobile phone retailer Univercell to market wireless broadband service in Tamil Nadu.

Through this tie-up, Univercell would retail Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus in all the 42 stores in the city, Reliance Communications Region Head (Tamil Nadu and Kerala) VG Somasekhar told reporters here.

Reliance Communications launched the "Netconnect Broadband" service in March 2009 across the country. "We believe through this tie-up, we will be able to go much closer to customer", he said. The company currently has around 300 stores across the southern region.

As of October 31, Reliance Communication has a 62.42 lakh subscriber base in Tamil Nadu. The company offers internet connection plans ranging from Rs499 to Rs1,750, he added.
