After almost halving the headcount in the scam-hit Satyam, its new owner, Tech Mahindra, is set to move forward with its grand plan of integrating and leveraging the company’s overall strengths.

Though not immediately, Tech Mahindra is working towards a combined entity plan with Mahindra Satyam and by 2012 the combined entity would have about $5 billion in revenues.

The vertical level focus, too, is likely to be further sharpened with each of the key verticals —- digital convergence, manufacturing, BFSI, healthcare, retail and CPG.

A recent document from Mahindra Satyam’s new CEO C P Gurnani to the employees has also tried to give a confidence booster by promising that the work at MSat, as the new Satyam is being called internally, would be full of fun going forward.
Gurnani in his communiqué has assured the employees that there are going to be no more virtual pools.

“VPP (virtual pool programme) was a one-time exercise. There is no plan to repeat it. Those (employees) completing their assignments in their current projects will be re-assigned to other projects,” he assured.

Interestingly, Gurnani has also talked about the potential monetary gains the employees would make in the days to come.

Saying that there are going to be predictable monetary gains, he said, “all associate related (reimbursement) backlogs will be cleared by August 31. Appraisal process (of the employees) will be completed before August 31 and ratings communicated. Promotions based on performance will be considered for a small portion of employees. Salary increases will be reviewed only next financial year subject to economic turnaround and our performance,” he said in the communique.

However, the interesting part of the communique was about the way the company is planning to boost the morale of the Satyamites, who are still in a dilemma about the job security. Gurnani promises that MSat as a work place is going to offer fun with an increased connect with the leaders in the company.

The company is planning to have connect programmes between the employees and the leadership that too with interesting themes Kapi with CP (Gurnani), Associate with ASM (the former CEO) and High Tea with Hari T (the company’s chief people’s officer) have been given as some examples for the proposed connect programmes.
