Nestle India Ltd said on Monday its board has approved buying the healthcare nutrition business of unlisted Speciality Food India.
The transaction would be effective from January 1, 2010, Nestle said in a statement to the BSE.
The healthcare nutrition business' revenue for the year ended March 31, 2009, was Rs288 million, it said.
The product portfolio of the healthcare nutrition business would give Nestle a leadership position in nutrition, health and wellness segments, it added.
