Lifeclinic International, global leading manufacturer and distributor of automated blood pressure monitors and health stations through its Indian partner Lifeclinic India, has launched health stations here today.

Lifeflinc's products are FDA approved and meet (Association of Advanced Medical Instrumentation) AAMI and WHO standards, T Venkateswar RajGoud, president Lifeclinic India told media persons after the launch.

Lifeclinic's entry into the national market brings a critical service which will allow individuals to engage in their own health and wellness, Goud said adding "for over 30 years, pharmacies, employers, medical clinics, health clubs and others have provided self-testing BP monitors as a valuable service.

"Today, our monitors are widely embraced with over 30,000 of them in pharmacies and over 5,000 in other locations throughout the world, they are used over a million times a day and we proudly say that we save at least a life a day."

The Lifeclinic Automated Health Stations provide tools for a natural transition into self-healthcare and chronic disease management. It helps identify early risk factors and prevent progression. The machines can be ideally installed in any public place and large medical stores. 

Railway stations and metro railways can install these health stations in waiting rooms, ticketing counters star hotels for their guests, corporate houses for the benefit of their employees, Goud said.

"Worksite health stations provide cost-effective tools to fight the hypertension and obesity epidemic, which adversely effects employee health and productivity," said James Evans, director of  international business development of Lifeclinic International, "worksite health stations will increase an employee's awareness of health riks, and allows the individual to improve their health through life-style changes which leads to a more productive employee and ultimately to reduced health related expenditures for the corporation," he added.

The Lifeclinic LC500 provides automated measurements of blood pressure, pulse,weight, blood oxygen and BMI. Peripheral input ports interface with various personal health devices, including glucose meters and pedometers. The LC500 is internet-ready for secure, HIPAA-compliant,connection to health and wellness tools.

The Health Staions ranging between Rs1.75 lakh and Rs11 lakh depending on the models. The Advance Model LC600 which will be marketed in 2011 would cost around Rs11 lakh, Evans said.
