The government owned Life Insurance Corp of India (LIC) has paid Rs8.64 billion ($189 million) as advance tax for the March quarter, compared with Rs8.1 billion a year ago, an income tax department source said on Monday.
Hindustan Unilever paid Rs1.7 billion as advance tax, versus Rs4.3 billion a year ago.
Larsen & Toubro paid Rs2.7 billion, from Rs2.45 billion a year ago.
Hindalco paid Rs850 million, versus Rs700 million a year ago. Yes Bank paid Rs1.08 billion, versus Rs410 million a year back.
Bank of India paid Rs1 billion, versus Rs5.9 billion a year ago.
