India's headline inflation is expected to ease to 6% by March, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Tuesday.

India's wholesale price index (WPI) rose an annual 7.4% in November, government data showed.

The figure compared with the median forecast for a 7.48% rise in a Reuters poll and was lower than the annual rise of 8.58 percent in October.

The Indian central bank, the Reserve Bank of India, is widely expected to hold rates at its policy review scheduled to be held on Thursday.
