Mahindra Two Wheelers, the two wheeler arm of the $6.3 billion Mahindra Group, has launched its two new 125cc gearless scooters, Rodeo and Duro in Gujarat. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd believes that Gujarat state is biggest market for scooters in the country.
"It seems, this state is the biggest market for scooters and so we have launched our two new models in Gujarat. In coming years, we are expecting 15% to 16% of the total national sales to come from Gujarat," said vice president, sales and customer care, two-wheeler sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Sanjay Mittal.
"Due to its socio-economic profile, the demand of two-wheelers in Gujarat is maximum," informed Mittal. Currently, the company has capacity of producing around 40,000 units per month. We are also planning to increase the capacity to 50,000 units in near future," added Mittal.
Recently, the company entered into two-wheeler segment. The company has so far 325 dealers across the nation. "In Gujarat, we have 26 dealers which will increase to 40 by March 2010. Nationally, we want to add 50 new dealers in next four months," said Mittal.
The Rodeo is priced at Rs41,299 and Duro is priced at Rs38,299 ex showroom Ahmedabad.
