Gitanjali launches Wimbledon range of jewellery

MUMBAI: Gitanjali group on Monday unveiled a new collection called the 'Wimbledon Jewellery', which includes a diamond studded tennis ball, which will be presented to winner of the men's Wimbledon champion of 2007--Roger Federer.

The ball from the Tesoro range of the group, which was unveiled by Bollywood actor Tanushree Dutta, is a fine blend of 24-carat gold, studded with diamonds and valued at approximately Rs 35 lakhs.

Anuj Rakyan, VP - Retail, Gitanjali Gems, told reporters here that their group has signed a three year licensee rights to develop and market jewellery under the Wimbledon brand.

He said the group with its worldwide network, will promote the brand across various markets that are passionate for Wimbledon and its accessories. The marketing rights for this special jewellery line dedicated to the Wimbledon series, which will include premium quality bracelets and pendants, have been extended to Jewellery Marketing Company (New York), Gitanjali Retail (Middle East), DIGICO (China) and Gitanjali Gems (India).

The Wimbledon Collection starts at a range of Rs 8000 and will be available at all retail outlets of the Group.
