The Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) on Sunday organised a seminar on 'Economic and financial issues and the Indian legal industry: the road ahead'.
It addressed the emerging economic and financial issues that were increasingly dominating legal matters in India.
It concluded on the note that financial and economic issues bear a dynamic relationship to each other, and must be analysed accordingly.
The event was divided into four sessions each addressing different law-related issues. Four judges of the Gujarat high court — Justice Kalpesh S Jhaveri, Justice DA Mehta, Justice Ravi Tripathi and Justice KA Puj — chaired the different sessions.
Issues like the uniqueness and benefits of the 25% limit imposed on open offers, the role of private banks in the global economy, their practical aspects and strategies, and the importance of SEZs in financial improvement, among others, were discussed.
Inaugurated by GNLU director Bimal N Patel, the seminar was attended by retired Supreme Court judge, justice Arijit Pasayat as chief guest.
