Eurocopter, a subsidiary of French, German and Spanish group EADS, is bidding for helicopter deals worth $7-8 billion in India, a senior company official said.
Rainer Farid, Eurocopter vice president, South Asia sales, told reporters the company was also planning to set up a maintenance unit in India by next year.
"China and India are our main markets and we are firmly focused on these two countries," he said.
Farid said Eurocopter has 30% of the Indian helicopter market.
Eurocopter wants to supply more than 60 helicopters to the Indian navy and 30 for the coast guards.
