The first four editions of Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which was first held in 2003, have been used to promote Gujarat as the ideal place to do business and an attractive investment destination.

However, as part of chief minister Narendra Modi's plan to make Vibrant Gujarat a global event, other countries and states will also be able to woo investors at the upcoming Summit, to be held in Gandhinagar from January to 13.

Officials said that apart form Canada, which is also a partner country for this year's event, Australia, Mozambique and Rwanda are some of the countries that will pitch for investments during the biennial event. These countries have organized seminars with an eye on potential investors. US and Japan have also conducted seminars at the event.

"This may be the first time in the country that so many nations and states will get a chance to attract investments by wooing investors under one roof," a senior official in industries department, said.
