State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), plans to roll-out its 3G services in Pune and Goa by December, a senior company official said.

"We are all set to introduce our 3G services in Pune and Goa in the next two months," BSNL's chief general manager, Aloke Kaul, told reporters here today.

After Pune and Goa, the company also plans to provide 3G coverage (50 cities) in the whole of Maharashtra, Kaul said.

Earlier, inthe month of August, BSNL launched its pilot project in Pune enabling 2 mbps data connectivity to its post-paid customers, he said.

While Kaul did not disclose the charges for the new services, it is understood that 3G services are expected to cost 30-40 per cent more than the cost of the existing GPRS or EDGE services connectivity.

The PSU was awarded one block in 3G spectrum in all telecom circles in the country early this year.
