Air India to introduce direct flight to Dehradun

Air India is introducing a daily direct flight from here to Dehradun from March 28, when the summer schedule comes into effect.

The national carrier will be operating the flight with a 46-seater ATR aircraft, which will depart Delhi at 10.10 am and reach Dehradun at 11.10 am. On it return leg, the flight will take off from Dehradun at 11.35 am and reach Delhi at 12.35 am.

"The timing of the flight had been kept as such, that on its arrival at Delhi, passengers have the options of taking connecting flights to all metros like Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin and Chennai and also to tourist places like Ooty, Kodaikanal and Tirupati," an Air India spokesperson said.

The new flight would also allow the passengers to catch their connecting flights for international destinations on Air India's network, like those in the USA, Europe, the Gulf, the UK and South East Asia, he added.

The airline has fixed a special introductory fare of Rs2,129 (all inclusive) till April 30.

AI's flight would be the third daily direct flight to Uttarakhand capital. Kingfisher had been operating a direct flight to Dehradun and Jet Konnect, Jet Airways no-frill service, will be starting its flight from March 28.
