The bid price continued to increase steadily as the third-generation (3G) telecom auction entered the third day.

The pan-India maximum bid price on Monday was Rs4324.19 crore, which is 24% more than the reserve price of Rs3,500 crore.

Also, Monday’s maximum was almost 6% higher than the previous day’s Rs4,085 crore. The day the auction began, the maximum pan-India bid price was only Rs3,919 crore.

While Delhi remained on top in terms of the provisional winning price at the end of 16 rounds, Gujarat joined the same league on Monday. While the provisional winning price at the end of round 16 in Delhi was Rs416.43 crore, that in Gujarat was Rs416.42 crore. Mumbai has been pushed to the seventh position now (lowest in A circle), down from second on the opening day.

The financial capital’s provisional winning price, at Rs392.66 crore, is below Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The reserve price for `A” and metro circles (except Kolkata) was fixed at Rs320 crore each.

In `B’ circle, Rajasthan is leading as far as the provisional winning price goes. Its price was Rs 159.47 crore on Monday. The lowest rank in B circle has gone to West Bengal and Punjab at Rs123.63 crore each. The reserve price for B circle was fixed at Rs120 crore each.

In C circle, there’s hardly any variation between states. Bihar is on top at Rs31.5 crore, while all the rest are at Rs 30 crore each, which is the reserve price in C circle.
