Eros Now said it has tied up with three mobile wallets to ride the demonetization wave and give a chance to its users to subscribe to their services easily.

Eros International Plc said its digital over-the-top (OTT) platform had “entered into multiple significant partnerships in India with three major electronic payment platforms—Paytm, Mobikwikand Snapdeal-owned Freecharge—who are the forerunners in the online payment industry in India,” the company said in an e-mailed statement.

The government delegalised the use of the old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes in a bid to rein in black money and counterfeit notes. The result was that 86% currency (in value terms) was wiped out from the system, leaving people with virtually little or no cash to spend on essentials and pay for services.

Commenting on the development, Rishika Lulla Singh, CEO, Eros Digital, said, “With the recent demonetization move in India, the online payment industry has seen a surge and we see that as beneficial for our world class OTT platform Eros Now as more of our users now can use any of the leading Indian e-wallet service providers such Paytm, MobiKwik or Freecharge to subscribe to Eros Now’s massive library of premium content and other unique features."
