Yes Bank, Indian Railways partner to set up 1,000 water purifiers at stations across India

The initiative is being rolled out at smaller stations with basic water connection and an average footfall of 1,000 passengers a day, the bank statement said.

Private sector lender Yes Bank has joined hands with the Indian Railways to set up 1,000 water purifiers on stations across the country by 2019.

"Yes Bank has joined hands with the Indian Railways to provide safe and clean drinking water at railway stations by setting up 1,000 community water purification systems in India by 2019", the bank said in a statement on Friday.

In the first phase, 100 such systems will be set up at 'D' and 'E' category railway stations in Konkan belt and some other locations in Maharashtra by March 2016, it said.

The initiative is being rolled out at smaller stations with basic water connection and an average footfall of 1,000 passengers a day, the statement said.

Around 50 such systems have been already installed in Konkan region, Yes Bank said in a statement.  

On Friday, the stock of the company closed up 2.30% or Rs 17.45 at Rs 777.35 on the BSE.
