Amid the on-going emissions scandal, the German car manufacturing company Volkswagen has sold 3,255 units in October. 
 
In September, the carmaker registered a fall in sales for the first time after growing for seven straight months. 
In fact, only recently the carmaker announced that they may recall nearly one lakh cars in India over the emissions scandal. 
 
According to a press release sent on Monday, Volkswagen's sales grew 6.5% in the January-October period. The carmaker sold 38,633 units in the ten months, as against 36,296 units last year. 
 
Mr. Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are well on course to give customers even more reasons to visit the Volkswagen showrooms in near future with new products being planned in the next 18 months".
 
The recall in India, expected to take place before November 8, which will mostly affect cars fitted with engines that have been imported and would also include 20,000 diesel vehicles made in the country.
