App-based taxi service provider Uber will be tying up with AliPay-backed Paytm to let Indian customers pay through the mobile app for their rides internationally. A move which will make international travel an easy task, Indians will soon be able to pay through Paytm's app using Indian currency only, a Times of India report has said.

Uber has just tied up with Alibaba's AliPay in China, which will extend the same services to its Chinese customers globally. This will be made available in all the 400 cities that Uber operates in.

The report says that this can be put down as a strategic move by the company to spread its reach in the world's two most-populated countries and to ward off tough competition in these two countries. In China, the homegrown Didi Kuaidi goes up against Uber and in India, it's Ola.

Paytm's Vijay Shekhar Sharma, was quoted as saying in the report, "Uber being one of our first and most important merchants, this partnership across 400 cities is a major feat. For Indian users, this will make the process of travelling on international trips very smooth."
