United Breweries' shares up over 8% on huge block deal

The shares of United Brewreies jumped over 8% on Friday on the back of a huge share deal on the BSE.

The company's shares jumped 8.15%, hitting an intraday high of Rs 892.50 from the previous close of Rs 821.10 apiece. 

According to CNBC TV-18, 18.5 lakh shares were traded in a block on the BSE at Rs 822 a share, pumping the share price on the exchange. 

The BSE Sensex was trading up over 300 points at the time. 

At 1019 hours, the 30-share benchmark Sensex was at 28,728.97, up 316.08 or 1.11% from previous day's close. Strong cues from the global markets are supporting a rally on the domestic exchange.
