As the fight for a larger chunk of the taxi service market intensifies, Ola cashed in on the wedding season to promote its Ola Rental service, Uber has gone a step ahead and forged a tie up with a wedding planning service to offer travel and logistics support for weddings.
Ola, in an e-mail to its customers, said, "Whether it's family, close friends or distant cousin, weddings require all your attention with loads of fun, food and people to spend time with. And as you meet, greet, and eat, Ola is all set to be your ride partner."

Ola said its 'Rental' taxi can be booked at a starting price of Rs 499, depending on the duration.
Uber announced the launch of UberWEDDINGS across 12 cities, to provide "convenient, hassle-free and cashless mobility solution, for all wedding-related travel needs," it said in a statement.
For this, Uber has tied up with wedding planners WedMeGood, which will let "hosts buy a specific number of Uber rides of set denominations (promo code-based) on a specifically dedicated page on the WedMeGood website. They can then, share them with their guests or family members to ride for free."
Commenting on the development, Prabhjeet Singh, General Manager Delhi & NCR, Uber India, said, "Weddings bring in the logistical challenge of a coordination and managing commuting needs. UberWEDDINGS provides an easy way to hosts to ensure that all wedding-related travel in the city is managed through cashless pre-generated promo codes.
The service will be available till February 2017, that is till the time the wedding season lasts. Starting Monday, the service will be available in New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Pune, Udaipur and Lucknow. Uber also offers the service in Washington DC, San Francisco, New York, Boston and Los Angeles.
