Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,62,284 units last month, up 3.93%, from 1,56,138 units in the year-ago period, it added.

TVS Motor Company today reported a marginal growth of 1.22% in its total sales at 1,88,598 units in January 2015.
The Chennai-based company had sold 1,86,313 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.
Total two-wheeler sales for the month also increased marginally by 1.08% to 1,81,516 units as against 1,79,576 units in January 2014.
Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,62,284 units last month, up 3.93%, from 1,56,138 units in the year-ago period, it added.
Scooters sales during the month grew by 23.97% to 56,032 units in January 2015 as against 45,198 units in the corresponding month last year.
Motorcycles sales grew by 6.87% to 69,949 units last month as compared to 65,449 units in the corresponding month a year earlier.
During the month, three-wheeler sales grew by 5.12% at 7,082 units, from 6,737 units in January 2014.
However, exports in January declined by 13.31% to 25,029 units, compared to 28,875 units in the corresponding month a year earlier.
"The company witnessed planned production cuts due to annual maintenance and Pongal holidays in its major plants during the month of January," TVS Motor said.
