Customers will have to wait for another month to see the prices of pay channels on their television screens as broadcast watchdog TRAI today deferred the order.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), in its tariff order, had made it mandatory for broadcasters to declare whether the channel is 'free to air' or pay and to display the prices in case of pay channel.

The order was to come into effect after 30 days from March 3, the date of publication of the order.

The Authority, however, in a notification issued today amended the direction, saying the order would come into effect after another 30 days.

TRAI said the decision was based on the representation it received from some of the stakeholdes with request to remove the ambiquity regarding the schedule of declaration.
