Tata Power generates 35 million units so far in FY'16

Tata Power aims to boost the generation capacity to 18,000 MW, and its distribution to 4000 MW by 2022.

Tata Power on Monday said that it has generated 35,093 million units (MUs) of power, collectively from all its power plants so far during the current fiscal.

The company has generated 11,934 MUs during the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal, it said.

The company also reported increase in generation, with the total power generation capacity of Tata Power in India standing at 9,036 MW from various sources such as thermal, hydro, renewable energy (wind and solar PV) and waste heat recovery, the firm said in a statement.

Tata Power aims to boost the generation capacity to 18,000 MW, and its distribution to 4000 MW by 2022, it added.

"Tata Power will ensure that it continues to add to the generation capacity of the power sector of India and prove to be a national asset to the country," Tata Power MD Anil Sardana said.
