Tata Motors sales rise 7% in April, exports shine at 18%

Tata Motors today reported 7% rise in total sales at 36,205 vehicles in April compared with 33,962 units in the same period last year.

Domestic sales of Tata Motors' commercial and passenger vehicles grew by 5% at 32,419 units against 30,740 units in April 2014, Tata Motors said in a BSE filing.

Sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market in April stood at 10,230 units, up 37% from 7,441 units in April 2014.

In the commercial vehicles segment, domestic sales were 22,189 units during the month down 5% from year-ago period, it added.

Exports during the month stood at 3,786 units, up 18% against 3,222 units in the year-ago month.
