IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today said it has signed a multi-year contract with Virgin Atlantic Airways covering private cloud, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and IT support services.

TCS will provide fully managed services to transform and optimise Virgin Atlantic Airways' IT processes, applications and infrastructure, India's largest software services firm said in a statement.

The Mumbai-headquartered company added that it will set up a private cloud for the UK's leading airline and provide services including IaaS, end user services and application support services across the whole of Virgin Atlantic's (VAA) technology landscape.

"The initiative is a part of VAA's strategy to invest in operational efficiencies and innovations to help it maintain its market leadership," it said.

"In order for Virgin Atlantic to maintain and build on our position as market leaders, it is vital for us to simplify our IT processes and create a technology landscape that is more agile and responsive to our growing business requirements," VAA Chief Information Officer David Bulman said.

TCS said it was recently selected for similar transformational deals with leading airlines in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America.
