State assembly passes Karnataka Appropration Bill

The state assembly has passed the 'Karnataka appropriation bill-2014" to authorise the payment and appropriate Rs1,41,599 crore of the state's consolidated fund towards various services for 2014-15.

The oppositions, BJP and JD(S), staged protests in the house, demanding a CBI probe on the Arkavathy de-notification issue. Amidst the opposition, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presented the appropriation bill. Then, speaker Kagodu Thimmappa announced that the house has passed the bill.

Meanwhile, the assembly has also passed the Agriculture University Amendment bill.
