Sluggish demand takes a toll on kabuli gram, arhar

Prices of kabuli gram and arhar fell by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today, hit by subdued demand from retailers against adequate stock position.

Traders said that besides easing demand from retailers, adequate stocks on increased supplies from producing belts mainly led to the decline.

In the national capital, kabuli gram small variety declined by Rs 100 to Rs 9,700-10,000 per quintal.

Arhar and its dal dara variety also traded lower by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 4,200 and Rs 6,100-7,900 per quintal, respectively.
