The banking index, oil and gas index, along with the PSU index and metal index slumped

The BSE Sensex fell 10.11 points, or 0.04%, ending at 26633.13 on Wednesday. Nifty dropped 1.75 points, or 0.02%, at 8190.50, hit by overseas investors selling towards the end of the session.
RIL lost 1.99%, ICICI Bank 1.26% and Cipla 1.05%. However, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto, Wipro, Tata Motors, Hero Motocorp and Asian Paints ended in the green, rising by up to 3.47%.
The banking index, oil and gas index, along with the PSU index and metal index slumped.
Whilesmall-cap rose 0.47%, mid-cap fell 0.09%.
The Nikkei India Services PMI stood at 46.8 in December. On the currency front, the rupee strengthened 28 paise to end at 68.05.
