Rs 202 crore! That's how much an industrialist paid for a penthouse in Mumbai

The penthouse which belongs to the Runwal Group offers views of the Arabian Sea and the infamous Queen's Necklace. As part of the transaction the apartment also offers 21-car parking slots.

This is the time when most of the people in Mumbai are postponing their decisions to buy a house in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Amidst this, an industrialist created buzz in the real estate market by paying a whopping Rs 202 crore for a penthouse in South Mumbai. 

This sea-facing triplex penthouse in South Mumbai's Napean Sea Road is the biggest apartment in the country, according to Economic Times.

The penthouse which belongs to the Runwal Group offers views of the Arabian Sea and the famous Queen's Necklace. As part of the transaction the apartment also offers 21-car parking slots.

According to Zee Media reports, the penthouse is built over the 20th, 21st and 22nd floors of the building which is called 'The Residence' and is spread across 17,000 square feet.

Media reported that the builder and the buyer have 'signed a non-disclosure agreement' regarding the deal. The building is under construction and ET reports say that the project is expected to be delivered by March 2018. 

The ET report said, "It is about four times a recent big-ticket transaction for an apartment. Banker Uday Kotak recently bought an 11,000 square feet house in Bandra-Kurla Complex for Rs 55 crore."

The buyer's identity is not revealed to media yet.

The salient features of the penthouse are:

1. It offers view of the Arabian Sea and Queen's Necklace.

2. It has 21 car parking slots.

3. It offers a luxury club house which includes a spa, a socialising room, a modern gymnasium and a rooftop swimming pool.

4. A private jet and a luxury yacht.

5. High-speed elevators.
