RJio may venture into tablets, laptops

Reliance Jio, which retails mobile phones under Lyf brand, plans to venture into other devices that have "screens".

Sunil Dutt, president of devices, Reliance Retail, shared that it may get into sale of other devices having screens. However, he did not disclose if they would include only tablets or will also have range of laptops too.

Reliance Jio which has launched 14 smartphones in the last six months, on Monday unveiled its 15th device – Earth 2. "This smartphone will be available at all the Reliance Digital stores as well as key mobile outlets from Tuesday," Dutt said.

Priced at Rs 21,599, Earth 2 has 13 megapixel front and rear cameras with voice control. Additionally, the 'Sense' feature enables the user to personalise and control the phone with 19 different gestures and shortcuts.

It has an internal memory of 32 GB and powered by 3GB RAM along with Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa Core Processor has 2500 mAh battery.

It is not yet clear when the phones will be available via e-commerce platforms.
