Renault India CEO and MD Sumit Sawhney said that the company had received an overwhelming response in the Indian market, from both metros and smaller cities.

Automaker Renault India has reported an over three-fold jump in sales to 12,426 units in April as against 4,001 units last year.
"The Renault Kwid has received an overwhelming response in the Indian market, not only from the metros but also from smaller cities and towns," Renault India Country CEO and Managing Director Sumit Sawhney said in a statement.
On the outlook, he said: "Going forward, we are confident of maintaining the sales momentum, as we strategically working towards expanding our sales and service network in India."
By February, the company had sold over one lakh units of the small car, in four months since its launch.
"Kwid is a great success and has revolutionised the compact hatchback segment, living true to our promise of creating a new era in automotive history.
"It has generated unprecedented success in its category and has won the hearts of customers," Sawhney had said during the auto expo.
