Trading activity was restricted as the markets remained closed on Friday on account of 'Mahashivratri'.

Marketmen said besides drop in demand from retailers, ample stocks position on improved supplies in the market, mainly dragged down kabuli gram, gram and other pulses prices.

In the national capital, kabuli gram small variety suffered the most by falling Rs 700 to Rs 8,700-9,200 per quintal.

Gram, gramdal local and best quality followed suit and dropped by Rs 600 each to Rs 5,100-5,300, Rs 6,000-6,300 and Rs 6,400-6,500 per quintal, respectively.

Besan Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted lower Rs 2,500 each instead of Rs 2,800 each per 35 kg bag.

Arhar and its dal dara variety too dropped to Rs 4,100 and Rs 5,900-7,700 from previous levels of Rs 4,550 and Rs 6,400-8,200 per quintal.

In line with overall trend, urad and its dal chilka local moved down by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,700-6,300 and Rs 5,800-5,900 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 5,900-6,400 and Rs 6,300-6,500 per quintal.

Masoor small and bold declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,650-4,800 and Rs 4,700-4,900 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by the same margin to Rs 5,000-5,500 and Rs 5,100-5,600 per quintal.

Peas white and green, which remained steady for the major part of week, met with resistance at the fag-end and ended lower by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,650-2,675 and Rs 2,850-2,950 per quintal. (MORE)
