prices staged a recovery at the wholesale market during the week on scattered buying by stockists, supported by pick-up in demand from retailers.

However, arhar, kabuli gram and moth remained weak on tepid demand.

Traders said some buying by stockists following pick-up in demand from retailers mainly led to recovery in gram and its dal prices.

In the national capital, gram climbed to Rs 5,750-6,800 from the previous level of Rs 5,550-6,500 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality also moved up by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,100-7,400 and Rs 7,500-7,600 per quintal, respectively.

On the other hand, kabuli gram small variety drifted lower by Rs 200 to Rs 9,600-9,900 per quintal.

Arhar and its dal dara variety also softened by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 4,200 and Rs 6,100-7,900 per quintal, respectively.

Moth too shed Rs 50 at Rs 3,400-3,800 per quintal.

Elsewhere, urad, moong and masoor moved in a narrow range on scattered buying support and settled at previous levels during the period. (MORE)
