Using occasions to maximum advantage doesn't end at festivities. Instead, what gives many companies a chance to leverage on these special days is the exclusivity and frequency they comes with. One such day is today— International Women's day.

This time, it's raining offers from the very skies. From Air India's ‘All Women Operated’ flights’ to SpiceJet celebrating International Women’s Day 'in style' by reserving special seats for solo female travellers, many Indian airlines are keen on making helping women fly. The budget carrier includes options like free upgrades, exclusive seating arrangements and freebies, to mark the day's significance.

The all women crew isn't just by Air India alone. Even Vistara and Jet Airways have rolled out a slew of initiatives. While Vistara is launching #VistaraWomanFlyer service and is inaugurating Mumbai-Amritsar route on International Women’s Day with all-women crew, Jet Airways has outlined a special scheme which rewards women travellers with a flat 10% savings while booking flights across its entire network.

Under Meru's ‘Ride Planner’, expectant mothers can schedule their rides for next 15 days at a single go.

Big Bazaar is gifting vouchers worth Rs 1000 for those who shop for Rs 2000 or more. “After all, what better way to make a woman happy than to spoil her with great shopping!,” claims its press release.

For buying a Datsun redi-GO car on this day, the company is offering a special benefit of Rs 8000 on the purchase to its female customers.

Speaking of finances, the largest Indian bank, State Bank of India has launched a new employee-centric facility to enable its employees to work from home using mobile devices to address any urgent requirement the employee may have, that prevents their travelling to work.

Even T-Hub has launched a international startup initiative in India, the Smart Women Angels Network (SWAN). Through the move, T-Hub, a startup incubator set up by the Telangana government, is helping to create a network of women angel investors under SWAN, which has its roots in Barcelona.

In this rush to celebrate, brands make a place for 'time' to be enjoyed. Citizen Watches (India) has unveiled Citizen Eco Drive EX1484-81A and Eco Drive EM0502-86P as “an ode to the modern women.” They claim “these tastefully crafted watches are a blend of beauty, femininity and modernity.”

Besides these campaigns, the companies are up and running to pamper the seemingly talkative ones. Vodafone India's #ConnectedSheCan campaign is offering to scale up its ‘Reconnect’ programme to support women going back to work after career breaks, engaging women to use technology in order to encourage gender diversity and women empowerment. It also launched Smart Snehidi programme, Sakhi, Project Samridhi and BOLTRED towards this goal.

In a bid to promote health, Dabur India is hosting a special ‘Yoga @ the Workstation’ classes for its women employees to help them reduce work-related stress and inspire them towards a better work-life balance along with insights on nutrition.
