Mumbai court passes order to execute non-bailable warrant against Vijay Mallya

A magistrate court in Mumbai has passed an order to issue a non-bailable warrant against beleaguered businessman Vijay Mallya on Friday.

According to ANI, 

A magistrate court in Mumbai passed an order for the execution of non-bailable warrant through MEA against Vijay Mallya and Sanjay Aggarwal.

Sanjay Aggarwal was the former chief executive officer (CEO) of Kingfisher Airlines which was owned by Mallya.

Mallya owes about Rs 9,000 crore to Kingfisher's 17 lenders' consortium led by the State Bank of India (SBI). 

Earlier a special CBI court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Mallya in a IDBI loan default case. CBI officials had said that a request for Mallya's extradition from the US would soon be forwarded to the UK authorities concerned through diplomatic channels. 

Mallya fled to London on March 2 when various investigative authorities in the country started closing in on him and other Kingfisher authorities.
