American thrash metal giants Megadeth will perform in Noida this month at the MTV Extreme festival at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida. Megadeth, in India for the third time, came into the picture in the last minute after headlining acts Stone Temple Pilots and Chester Bennington pulled out.
Supporting acts include BLAKC, Pentagram, Parikrama, Indus Creed and Providence. Stone Temple Pilots issued a statement late January that they will not be performing for a while, owing to clashing schedules.
They were also slated to perform at the Soundwave festival in Australia next month. Megadeth last performed in India in 2012 as the headlining act at the Delhi leg of the NH7 Weekender. They also performed at Bangalore in 2008 with Machine Head as part of Rock in India concert.
The metal band released their latest album System Collider in June last year. MTV Extreme is a rock music and adventure sports festival and will be held at the BIC on February 16. Tickets range between Rs 950 - Rs 3500.
