Our growth story started 25 years ago when the then finance minister and former prime minister Manmohan Singh announced the opening up of India's economy to its private sector and to the world. 

They were the first-of-their-kind moves by the Indian government to facilitate what is now commonly known as Ease of Doing business, and it included, easing the norms for private companies' participation, import and export trade between countries, and much more. The reforms set forth by Singh set the stage for India's transformation, which is evident in growth stories of most of its sectors, including, IT, telecom, aviation.

Today, amid a grim global environment, both, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund consider India "a bright spot", a tag it has managed to safe-keep whether it was China's economy and stock markets taking the global markets down with it, or now, the impact of the Brexit decision that has sent economists and investors to the sidelines all over again.
