Maruti Suzuki suspends production temporarily after fire

Maruti Suzuki has suspended production due to the fire at auto component supplier factory in Manesar. 

A major fire engulfed auto component maker​ Subros on Sunday afternoon. The unit manufactures compressors for Maruti Suzuki. 

The fire that left one person injured, started at around 2 pm with the factory erupting in flames. The fire spread swiftly due to the compressors exploding in the extreme heat of the fire.

Over a dozen fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the inferno, which has already damaged property worth crores.
Ajeet Singh, SP, Gurgaon Police, said a portion of the factory's building had also collapsed due to the fire.

"We got the information of the fire. We immediately rushed the ambulance and the fire brigade to the spot...One person has been reported to be injured. The intensity of the fire is high, and fire department personnel are facing difficulties due to wind," he said.

The company's shares closed down 1.45% at Rs 4,073.15 per share.
