'Make In India Week': Amazon launches several initiatives in India, US marketplaces

Amazon.in has dedicated its gateway (main page) to the 'Make In India' initiative on Saturday, the first day of the 'Make In India Week'.

To celebrate the 'Make In India Week', Amazon has undertaken several initiatives on its India and US marketplaces. Amazon.in has dedicated its gateway (main page) to the 'Make In India' initiative on Saturday, the first day of the 'Make In India Week'.

India's largest online store has also launched a dedicated 'Make In India' store on its platform featuring products, across categories that are manufactured in India, including offerings from several of Indian and international brands.

To further support the government's effort in taking the Make In India to global markets, Amazon.com is showcasing Indian products prominently its site, thus providing over 294 million global customers easy access and an opportunity to discover millions of India-made products. These products are being offered by over 6,000 Indian manufacturers and sellers and include products ranging from the tapestry, toys, Indian handicrafts, Ayurveda products to yoga accessories, nautical instruments and more.

In addition, visitors on Amazon.in can watch the 'Make In India' inauguration ceremony, including PM Narendra Modi's live speech who inaugurated the function on Saturday.

The 'Make in India' store on Amazon.in showcases a wide range of India made products across hundreds of categories including fashion, beauty, sports and fitness, electronics, food products, luggage, furniture, health, home etc., all manufactured in the country.

In order to woo customers, Amazon has started special deals on all its India-made products. To synchronise with the 'Make In India Week' theme,  the e-commerce platform has created a design style guide inspired by the elements in the 'Make In India Week' logo, which has been used across the home page and the dedicated storefront.
