The new SUV is available in front-wheel-drive.

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the W6 (front-wheel drive) variant of the SUV Mahindra XUV500 with an automatic gearbox at a price of Rs 14.29 lakh ex-showroom Navi Mumbai.
The model is launched at a price of Rs 15.53 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
Vivek Nayer, chief marketing officer, automotive division, M&M Ltd. said, "The automatic transmission of the new age XUV500 has resonated very well with our customers since we launched it in November 2015. I am sure that the availability of the automatic transmission across variants and a range of price points will now render this technology more accessible to a larger base of customers and make the XUV500 a more attractive proposition amongst a wide spectrum of buyers.”
The new SUV is available in front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive form with the six-speed manual version.
The transmission hooks up to Mahindra's 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, which offers 103kW and 330Nm performance.
Fuel use for the new variant climbs from 6.7L/100km in manual models to 7.4L/100km for the automatic.
Fitted with seven seats as standard, the XUV 500 is one of the most affordable models in its SUV segment.
